Importance
wah this week damn busy, running both sides tiring siah. anyway just wanna type out something that i always told people, there isn't anybody more important in the team than the people who are already in the team.
last time, i was the loser waterboy in my jc rugby team, ok la not say that loser but still i wasn;t the least useful cos i wasn't as fast, as hard, as strong as the rest. at least i found a job i was relatively happy about. at least i made sure i had clear water to drink, the others too.
back to cheer, in cheer people only look at the top fliers, the girls with the 'sunshine' smile, the girls with the pompom, the girls at the top, who cares about the guys on the floor. but as any1 knows, it's the bases who made the girls fly so high. and it's also the midlayers who get stepped on. and trample, or their nice hair messed up by the balancing top layers.
the point is every1 is as important regardless of what you do, shoulderstands don't go up, no matter how zai ur flier is, she's stuck at extension. no matter how zai, ur bases are, when the fliers unlock, they can't throw. only shortsighted people would say, this position sucks. at the end of the day, when the trophy is our hand, u got to realised, when it's a 16 man competition routine, it takes 15 other people effort to win. U can be the zaiest, partner stunt king but if ur selfishness to keep the knowledge to ur self, u can always find urself stuck in the lousiest of team. (in retrospective, if u so zai, join another zai team, but still the selfishness will get u nowhere soon).
i feel it;s the best to have a team of equals, no one else is needed more or needed less than the others. i clearly remember so damn zai person said. if only can clone myself and my girl. the routine no need train too long can win liao. although it's a stupid way to think, but i have to agree with what he said, cos it's the balant truth. they are zai enough to cover almost all parts of the routine and it would definitley be easier if every1 had their skill level. lol.
see the thing is also, the in word in SECA now is ego.
the issue is to ego or not to ego. actually can sup with emo.
Grandfather story coming up. WALL OF TEXT warning.
last time ah, the team's improvement was driven by ego. 1 line of sarcasm can lead to great trainings and great movtivation. 1 action by a rival can spur on great inspiration and great determination. the team improved by leaps and bounds that time. every1 didn't want to be left behind. ego that time was a good weapon, until another more powerful weapon was found. it was POL, with strives on constant devotion, constant maintainence, constant pda, constant watever la, u get the picture. ego was lost in this evolution of times, and was soon forgotten, cos almost every1 was a couple. i clearly remember the days when 3 bachelors would meet and then go out cos, cos every1 else was training outside of training. cos POL was a 24 hours thing.
when pol doesn't produce enough results, then problem came, the great rift amongst the old and the young, the hungry and the full, the constructi-cons and the shutupit-cons. amongst the great rift came the drought, where i could say we stagnant. the chain is as strong as the weakest link, and also the POL-icy was to leave no man behind. so we cannot leave people, and move on, we need to struggle and try to drag, pull and hold on. but this period also made the snrs wake up and mature, and realise it wasn't all about their golden age now. they have the responsibility. the responsibility of keeping the club alive. to contribute back to something they have created. already so much effort liao, just endure lor.
so i guess this is the difference.
i would really say, the environment and the previledges now so different compared to last time. we were the lousy club that was shoved to the corner of the basketball corner cos they feel the need to keep the hall empty, or when we had to sit at the hall 6 carpark and play hunter and bear cos the hall were temporily used by other people. when people didn't have to work for it, they don't know the value of it. i complained everything under the world, things being unfair, who and who don't like me but i never reflect that my actions did justify the amount of 'contribution' i should get back.
i don;t know why i still harping over the history and stuff, but most prolly cos i feel very shortchanged. and i realied my time there is like the candle in the wind. 1 flicker and it's gone
abt since now the pol trend is dying down. will the ego trend get back, i would say most prolly, either that the emo train will run full steam ahead. either way i hope the best for the team cos i was really proud to say i was in the team that won 4 straight championships. still every1 got to realised the importance of everything, ur teammates, ur facilities, ur trainers, ur coach, ur comittee, they are there cos they wanna cheer, and they wanna make every1 one's life easier by trying to carry more on their own shoulders. so why would anyone stupid enough to go disturb the trend and make them carry more, and more and more, without even helping them to distribute or even lighten the load. surely a smart and kind person wouldn't do that right?
the loser waterboy signing out. am trying to make the tumbler and cups clean cos i would have to drink the same water as the others. and also i didn't like the cleaniness state it was at last time, so just clean it.
