Toe Pitch Part2.
Toe pitch, toe pitch, toe pitch, looks easy but underneath it all it's a lot of 'feeling'. There's so many factors to a good toe pitch, i actually wanted to listen them out then i realised that there's really too many stuff, but the important thing is feeling.
Feeling is a very sensitive topic. Rewind to almost 2.5 years back, there i was after cheer rock, doing so many shoulder-stands, i thought it's my chance to learn toss up hands. Woots, and being the 'noob', i asked the seniors how to do toss up hands and the reply was usually 'just blast lor, 靠感觉’, what the hell is the stupid '感觉'? toss 100 times still at stomach level something. Then they tell me, 'No feeling, no feeling. the feeling when it's super light then just continue the momentum and blast lor.' After another 100 times still cannot, die must be I slow in learning. Now at most is chest level, must 'tan hao liang'. So i guess feeling is really 'feeling'. I thought rest of my days = shoulder stand le, but still i manage to do once or twice toss up hands. Not easy. Then came Cheerobic = more shoulder-stand and we can fast forward to my 10mths in cheer. Although i want to mention i wasn't absolutely given a chance to base at all also. 10 mths in cheer, = rsu trip, in 1 week, i became fly 'pig' backspot, number2 magical backspot, basket toss backspot, and my one useful skill that i'm still doing now, toe-pitch front base. So what actually happened in thailand, maybe thai food have the ability to make u 'bankai'.
Seriously, i really really doubt it's the really 1 week intensive training in thailand that helped me find the feeling. It's the backspottting, cos i learnt toe pitch in 1.5 days. I'm not saying *star* estimate of 1.5 years of minimum experience is incorrect cos it varies. Why backspotting? Backspot does nothing except touch butt and thighs what. Maybe that's for super zai bases and fliers but at the time, other fliers and bases are very reliant on the backspot. The backspot is the equilibrium of the 3 people, backspot have to dip with the base and yet throughout have to support the fliers weight, then blast together with the base. So i assume that's where i got the basic 'feeling'. Also the intensive training over there with good bases (lzm and gxp, best combi at the time) and also guidance from our thai friends. So all in all good basic is a basic requirement for learning toe pitch.
Back to toe pitch story, so with better knowledge of stunts I was taught toe pitch and toe pitch360(butterfly hands) in roughly 2 days i think, and there was Mr Razum, with his marvelous partner stunts( read: Motivation to improve faster). Now fast forward, next is the big big disclaimer, after roughly 2 months of learning toe pitch i lost it. Totally lost it. Cannot do, cannot go up. Feeling gone and later got it back again. Because it was quite some time ago, i cannot really remember how long i lost it, maybe 2 weeks. My point here is, we can learn something or anything, but to master it really takes a lot of patience and continual improvement to keep it.
*star* said toe pitch is a egg-chicken paradox, and i can say, it helps each other improve, definitely, so they go hand in hand (P.s. please get enough strength before even attempting to learn both). Then again I wanna point out, my walk to hands also 1 of my lousiest skill until stupidness is even scared of doing it with me, cos i broke her wrist doing it. I can say that's because i'm very reliant on the backbase to provide the blast for toe pitch. So after all the grand mother and grand father story, the morale of the post is FEELING.
