Went jogging yesterday, so i was unawared of what was going on. It was until i saw all the msn nick that i realised whats going on. After seeing all these and reading all the entries, it has come to my attention that certain things have got to stop
1. Whats with the finger pointing? All the msn nicks, blog entries and sms were hinting in one way or another to the same person. Coming for training on a regular basis takes discipline but having to take up responsibilties of running a team is definately harder as we are always under the scrutiny of everyone. If anyone running the show is not setting good example, immediately there will be ppl blasting. Its like no matter how good the goal keeper is, just one blunder is enough to make him be the talk of the day. If anyone thinks he is good enough to lead, pls step out instead of making uncaring comments like this.Show me that u can do better. I always welcome feedbacks, but from what i see this is just target one person for the strings of misfortunes that befalls u. Whats with the he don't come so i don't come mentality? These are just excuses so that when u do the same thing, u probably would not feel that gulity cos even the person in charge is like that? Lots of things are up to ur own level of commitment. How many ppl have skipped lectures and tutrials before? Usually ppl also come up with some excuses like cannot wake up, lecture no use. To me, its just individual discipline.
2. Quiz. Personally for me i will plan such that i study for my quiz and go training. However i believe like what star says, not everyone can do the same thing. Everyone has their own standard and way of studying. Yes everyone in ntu has quiz, but how many can do well like me and still go training? I believe ppl come training not because others are there but more of wanting to improve and have fun. If ur gonna enforce training such that i cannot balance my work and play, there is no fun in training and certainly this will only bring me to walk away. Even in cheer, there is peak and offpeak period. Why not give ppl their breathing space during offpeak such that when peak comes they will give us their best. Don't regret when he or she cannot take it and leave when the time comes.
3.Coming for training even when you are injured. This has got to be one of the silliest thing i ever heard. Bearable injures are fine, but if u have injuries that restrict u from doing physical things( and i don't mean do able but pain type of activities) come for what? Me being prone to injures have had a strings to injuries to date like super fat ankle or shoulders that cannot lift up. So why would i go there and see ppl train and in the process makes me feel demoralised cos i can't do anything but look. I can't even fucking spot and that makes me feel useless. In the end u waste ur time and u feel lousy.U really need to get one big big injury to feel that.
I think most have been covered by star and in all aspect i agree with his views. In view that all focus has been on quiz and not coming, i will want to bring to ur attention of what i really feel during the past trainings.
1. I feel that to certain extent, bases think too highly of themselves. I find that some bases have been trying to correct others even though its probably their own fault. When stunts fail, its always the flyers never lock, never push etc. If ur not certain whats wrong, dun act like u know whats wrong and comment comment or try to change flyers' way . This has always been the bane of this team where guys think they are damn zhai even though they ain't.
2.Injures and spotting has been something i always emphasize. The whole parther stunt not only involved going up, but coming down as well. I always see flyers go up single lib nicely but come down without pop, without resisting. When things happen, they will just say its the flyer who anyhow come down. When structures are not stable, instead of holding on there for fuck why not just come down and do again? U can do infinite stunts, but the flyer has only one life. Don't only regret when things happen cos by then it will be too late.
3. Remarks and touch. We have learnt from lyris and Nazi abt how insensitive the team guys are, esp abt weight. It used to be really bad cos guys keep commenting in how heavy a girl. It may be a cheeky suan or a sincere comments. Whatever it is, pls keep to yourself, or tell the flyer face to face and not in front of an open crowd. This is very bad for self image as well as confidence. If weight is really an issue, why not enforce it on both guys and girls. After all being fat results in potential lack of stamina which is bad for cheerleading. Having a tummy makes backtucking harder. Pls no one is enforcing weight control and our flyers know well enough how much they have to control. Some of them are not even eating much these days due to comments like, "hey your too heavy ". If the base really think he is so zhai, why not u urself concentrate on lifting more weights instead? Also cheerleading is a sports that requires contact, however there should also be a limit of how much u touch. Some gers are more sensitive to touch den others, doing stunts is okie. But what i observe is the fact that some guys are too touchy and its making some of our new flyers uneasy. Pls be more professional and adhere only what the sports require.
What started as a fun blog turns out to become this type of blog. Ppl must be laughing at how stupid we are.
