Price of Winning (or trying to win)
-----------------------------------
Theres a price for everything. We all make sacrifices for things we deem worth it at that point of time. But is it really worth it?
After working for a year or so, there are so many things i regretted not doing when i was in school. The main thing is of course to study properly, because i did not study hard enough, i landed myself some jobs which i do not really like and pays peanuts, as the saying goes "beggers cant be chooser", i have to live with the fact that this is the path for me to take given my pathetic grades.I used to think that a degree is enough for me to secure a job in this society, anything less than that and you have to fight with those imported labors for the remaining options. It is so true, but this have been surpassed as a degree is not even enough to secure jobs nowadays, needless to say, those without a degree faces more challenges, unless one is satisfied with a salary of less than 2k.
What am i trying to tell you guys out there, those had been training hard to win cheerobics, those who skip lessons and flunk quizzes just to go for trainings, those who would do anything just to win. I am trying to say that it is not worth it, winning things would not secure you rice bowl for the rest of your life, it will only buy you temporary happiness and glory, infact it is a poison cause when you win once, you want to win it every year and more sacrifices need to be made.
I am not trying to ask you guys out there to give up winning because of this, what i actually wants, and this is what smart people like us do, is to win on 2 fronts. To be able to acheived good grades and win cheerobics at the same time. FYI, i did not achieved good grades not because of cheer but because my good china friends spoil the market for As by the power of moderation. I had full faith in your intelligence as well as discipline to achieve both.
Ultimately, we want to be champions forever, and to be that, we need to show the qualities that enables us to be high achiever.
I would be proud of you guys when you all come and join me in climbing the corporate ladder together. Maybe we will be up there faster by tossing the person up.
Cheers
